VB.NET is very nice for beginners to start learning. I started with VB.NET, now I am currently learning Java.

Yes I would learn it. I've been coding in it for about a year, and I love it. Your going to hear many rumors on how it's bad, but it's really not.

Depending on what kind of programs you would like to make and explore, than sure.
It's always good to learn certain languages.

You have to start somewhere vb is good if you are new to coding applications and such but if you want to learn i would do it.
