lol, this whole thing is a joke, especially this Indian thing thats in the news lately. We are not racist, we joke about white Australians far more than any other ethnicity but whenever its directed towards anyone of another ethnicity they immediately cry racism. Then this latest thing with the Indian student who got murdered, there are murders all the time and one was Indian so yeah that proves that it was racially motivate.... not.

Although, just like in Australia, in the US if you're white and you do or say anything towards a woman or other race, you're automatically sexist/racist. It's funny, I'm racist because I don't like Obama and think he's a socialist. One of my friends (that has known me since I was about 4) actually told me that.

On a side note about racism, I was watching one of the Harry Potter movies with my daughter the other day and it dawned on me. The death eaters (or whatever they are) bear striking resemblance to non other than the US based KKK. They wear sheets/hoods, are racist against people that aren't like them (in HP not pureblood, IRL not white), and have a special mark (HP = dark mark, KKK = burning cross). Thought that was interesting and will hopefully spark a little activity in this thread for OP as the majority of people here don't seem to care about Australian affairs.

Look here (AUSSIE LAND) its somewhat of a deviled issue and hard to explain really.
I feel i am right on the border of acceptance and racism.
Many if not 99% of my mates dont want any more immigrants in the country.
Yet they continue to allow them in year after year. Our country cant support much more!!
If anyone has not noticed the entire center of Australia is desert. Ya dont wanna live there so we only have coastline.
We give these people money when they arrive. Lots of money.
We already have a great heath care system and unfortunately they get allowed into that also.
Its putting strains on our already strained resources.
Oh yea and what are these immigrants doing? Well i can only talk for around here.... But there holding up people and stealing from them the dole bludging ass holes.

Lol immigration is a completely different issue and one I have a strong passion for about the US. I'm very against illegal immigration. You see, we'd be fine with the number of legal immigrants we accept in the US. It's the illegal ones that are driving things bad. They take all the blue colar jobs for dirt cheap (way less than minimum wage) and they get paid in cash because they are illegal. They then promptly ship that money back to where they came from. It does nothing for our crappy economy. Becuase the money isn't being spent on the local economy and small busiensses like it needs to be. The jobs are being taken from able bodied legal residents. I view it the same as outsourcing to "Steve" from India.

Mate i hear ya. I have seen time and time again a place i..... well attend lets say.....
Well they go there and ship money overseas every day. Im sure its there dole or pay or whatever. Normally in denominations of thousands.
Its simply wrong man. I have quit jobs because the boss employs illegals.
It shits me to tears. Sure i understand there are people that need to leave there country and i and most Aussies would welcome them.
But its the fakes and illegals that kill me. We have quite a big coastline to monitor and a small population. Not an easy project.
Those that now geography will now Aussie land is not the small island in the pacific rather a HUGE desert lol with some small areas to live.

Like I said, I have absolutely no problem with people that go through the necessary steps to obtain visas, green cards, even citizenship. Only thing I hate more than illegals is affirmative action. That very same illegal could get his visa and green card and I would no longer hate him. He's gone through the steps needed to be here, and generally when they do that, they become a productive member of society.

I don't think Australia is a racist country. Sure there are some people who have no lives who are racist, and who are responsible, but the amount of people that aren't racist in Australia is more than the amount of people who are, so I don't think it's fair to call the whole of Australia racist.
