There is no monitored proof that you will become an alcoholic by the age at 40, nor that you will develop a respiratory issue.

I have respiratory issues, that will only get worse if I continue to smoke :/

This is the exact reason I will never smoke.
I already have issues like this and I know that smoking will just make it worse. This alone should tell you to just stop completely for your health man.
