a.) Organisms may group together to take advantage of a resource, such as water.
b.) Organisms may group together as a defense tactic. They would be spread out to be able to see a larger amount of space, but still in small groups in case they encounter a threat.

2.) Penguins exhibit uniform spacing by aggressively defending their territory among their neighbors.

3.) Environments that are nutrient-poor encourage uniform distribution, so the plants will all be able to get their needed nutrients.

b.) Dandelion seeds are blown by the wind and land in random spots.
c.) Salvia leucophylla releases chemicals called terpenes which inhibit the growth of other plants around it and results in uniform distribution.
