The early versions of World of Warcraft didn't use the Warcraft III engine i don't think but you never know. World of Warcraft is based off of Warcraft III, as well as all other stuff in the Warcraft universe, such as the novels, graphic novels, and previous Warcraft Games. That's why it "looks" like it.
