I know many people will dispute me on this. However, I feel that if your thinking professionally, you should go java. I think it would be easier to get a job if you went that route. However as a hobby, python is great. I do python as a hobby, and I love it. As well, it teach you good habits and logic that you can apply in other languages. The good thing about most programming languages, is that all the logic is the same. The only thing that differs is the syntax. Since python has simple syntax, it's a good place to start and learn some logic of programming. And then, you can take your knowledge and apply it to more difficult syntax. If you do start python I suggest you apply loops and other things that may require thinking into your programs as soon as you can. Or, you may end up like me; typing everything out because is now to lazy to think
