I Can't Boot from a USB

I'm trying to boot from a USB drive so I can install Windows 7...I can't do it from my DVD drive because that is SATA and is connected to a PCI card.
I used the "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool" to create a bootable USB from an iso i downloaded here. It appeared to work fine so then i went into my BIOS and there were two bootable USB option. One was 'USB FDD' or something and the other was 'USB ZIP'. They both brought me to a screen with some of my computer information and at the bottom it said, 'A Disk Read Error Occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart'

Any help to either get me booting from USB or DVD drive would be greatly appreciated

Did you make the USB Bootable? There is a step which you must do to actually make it portable. Here is a quick guide on how to do it:

Some USB Flash drives are not supported by your motherboard. If you cannot select the usb from bios settings e.g setting boot sequence then you might have to flash your bios (updating it) to the latest version.

You have to change to boot sector of the USB flash drive if I'm not mistaken.

You have to make the USB drive bootable and have the computer run the USB on boot menu.

Make sure your USB is boot compatible .. Most older versions are not ...
