Well, if it's not too late, taking the battery out of newer PC's is uncertain about how they may respond.
With older machines, it's not so much of a problem. Also there are many default passwords for the BIOS, such as can be found by typing 'default BIOS passwords' in Google. There is always a battery and a jumper on the board for clearing the BIOS. Jumper is usually close to the battery. End of Line......

You can also push the little yellow button next to the cmos battery to reset the B.I.O.S.
