I want to have all of my music (which is now on an external hd) and my gf's music (currently on her computer & itunes) running off itunes. I'm happy to plug my hard drive in every time I need my music but she will want to have hers available to play straight from itunes without plugging the hard-drive in.
There's lots of instructions on how to transfer the itunes library to the hard-drive but they all highlight that the music will not be playable without the hard-drive plugged in. Is there a way to have it both ways? I have far to much to have it on the computers hard-drive but she doesn't have so much, so it's fine to stay there.
