[TUT]Easy Dual Booting
#1
Hello,
This can't be really considered a tutorial, but this is what I always do.
Lets say you want to have 2 or even 3 Operating Systems on 1.
You ask yourself, what's the best way to be able to dual boot?
Well I personally use EasyBCD, but the thing is, it needs Windows 7 to be installed latest.
So in short.

1. Make sure you have Windows XP installed on Partition D: (Can be any Other)
2. Get a Windows 7 Disc/ISO and start the installation process on Partition C:
3. Setup network
4. Get EasyBCD
5. Set-up Dual boot!

The main reason is that, Windows XP itself doesent really like dual booting, so if you install Windows 7 first, and XP later the boot parameters wont be able to be edited, and you'll have to reformat Windows 7 to be first again.

Just make sure you have a big HDD if you plan on using all three frequently.

Yeah, I personally got a 2TB Caviar Black, so it isnt a problem for me. But HDD's are getting bigger and cheaper these days tbh.

Yeah but if you have a 2tb hard drive with a 3200 rpm, it won't be as useful as a 500gb 7200 rpm .

It's all about balance ;D

You mean on 1 Hard drive, you don't install an operating system over an operating system to dual boot.

Also you don't need EasyBCD to dual boot, you can use your drive manager to setup a partition on your hard drive to boot beside the main installed OS. You just have to shrink your existing allocated space on your hard drive so that you have space left over to create a partition for that second OS.

All Caviar Black editions have 7200 RPM
Only the green has 5600.

Dual booting is a good process but I feel installing virtual systems is better . Easy installation and easy usage .
I hate sex in the movies. Tried it once, the seat folded up, the drink spilled and that ice,
well it really chilled her mood.
