Personally I like going with the whole no AV thing, I got tired of AVs draining my computers memory. If I had to pick one I would probably go with Avira, the only downside is the constant alerts that it spews out.
My onipion of best AV.

I'd have to agree with you, I used to use no AV for a few years, but when MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) came out, I've been using it ever sense, and I love it. They don't have lame popups like all of the other AV companies.
