I ended up getting her just a stuff animal (fuzzy teddy bear with a scarf addition), and a card with some nice words. It worked really well, and she was happy from what I could tell. I heard from other people that she was really happy with the gift as well. It is definitely more of the thought, and chocolates would have been a temporary memory from me as a gift, if she wanted those or not I dont know. I also gave her a big hug in the end to sum things up, and i'm sure everything put together gave her a smile that made her day at least a little better after all was done.
