Windows 7 pavilion laptop wont recover

Can someone help me, I had to buy a new hard drive for my hp pavilion laptop and recovery cds. I have installed the hard drive and insert the recovery cds. The process was fine all cds went through but then it said recovery failed. HP has not helped at all, they just keep asking for more money. They say it might be my motherboard stopping the complete recovery. I dont trust them because last time they said it was my hard drive and got 200 out of me. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Do you have Microsoft Windows 7 DVD?

If you are using HP Recovery,don't.
Use instead a Windows 7 DVD...
