Queen Eve walked into the room when Lord Treyco left with 12 different troops. She glances across the room to the king, who was talking to his generals. He notices the room goes silent, looks up and connects eyes with her, stopping mid-sentence. The generals, confused, turn around to see her standing there. The room grows silent as everyone looks at the queen standing in the doorway dripping blood, covered in mud, dressed in civilian clothes. The two Enforcers who escorted her in look at the King, and he nods. They leave the room, shutting the doors behind her. The king orders the room to be cleared. Servants bring a chair and some tea to the center table while clearing the notes and plans from it to make room. The king walks over and sits down next to his queen. He stares into her eyes and opens his mouth, only to be stopped by the queen’s hand. She looks down at her lap, and then pulls out a note from inside her pants. The note is stained by dry blood. She hands it to the King, who quickly unwinds the scroll and begins reading it out loud.
As the king reads the note, the queen sips her tea and asks for a pillow. A servant quickly brings her the pillow and she rests her head on the table as the king is reading over the note. He pauses frequently, as if it isn’t happening, then continues reading. She stares at his eyes to try to read a reaction to what he’s reading. She knows what is going to happen when he finishes the note, she is just waiting for the reaction to finally hit him.
As he finishes, he puts the note down and collapses into his hands. He returns himself to normalcy, and quickly gives his queen a hug. She is stunned. She looks at him in confusion, and he looks back caring. She’s been missing for 4 years and the note was a reason. She was taken from the castle by her closest bodyguards and traded to a slaver for cheap gold. Since then, the bodyguards are the same ones that walked her into the room. She doesn’t understand why he isn’t reacting to any of it. As the king stands up, he walks over to a computer and begins typing. The main monitor comes up and begins reading off orders that the king is placing in. Five Enforcers enter the room, and he hands them a small warrant. Within 10 minutes later brings the two Enforcers that lead in the queen on their knees. He asks them to follow them outside. The queen is watching this unfold in the center of the war room. As they leave the room, she walks with them outside. As the king is giving the execution order, he’s reading out what they did. He asks if they have anything to say. They look at each other, and then just bow their heads in silence. He looks at the executioner, and then they’re pushed to the block. As each is executed, the king walks back to his wife and leaders her back to the castle. He asks for him and his wife to be excused for the rest of the day as they go upstairs. When they finally get to his room, he sits down with her on the bed. She lays her head down on his lap, and begins explaining what happened since the first day.
She remembers when her bodyguards walked into her room and needed her to sign for a delivery at the back entrance. As she was lead down, they put a bag over her head and hit her with something hard. She then remembers waking up traveling very fast on a bad road with lots of bumps. She was being thrown all over the back of the truck, which seemed to be a delivery truck because she had a whole back cabin to herself. She remembers stopping at a checkpoint and when someone asked what was in the back, two gunshots rang out and they proceeded on. When she was being traded, the men that drove the truck did not look at her. They proceeded to tell the Slaver that she was a pheasant
