Question about Ram

Can someone confirm or deny that mt16vddf12864ay-335f1 is compatible with an emachines t3116?

I tried upgrading the ram on the system by removing the existing single 512 MB ram module and installing two 1 GB ram modules (one per slot). When I started the computer I got long beeps indicating a RAM error. Is there something wrong or should these RAM modules work with this computer? I got the RAM modules from another emachines computer that was of the same series and a similar motherboard.

if you got it from another emachines then it should be ok, maybe you got a faulty ram stick... have a look into that (try it on another machine)
