need help for a project im doing

Hi, everyone im new to this forum and i have a project im working on, what i need is how to make a desktop like windows with a start menu, and how do i make the icons move and be able to move them, i know you have to us a listbox but i just dont know how to us it to make a desktop i gess what im asking for is how to make a fake operating system, visual basic 6.0 just starting it so im a newbe, i know the basics, and i when to planet source code and fourm a some but know of them have what im looking for, please help me just to get started thanks all four your help. I want to make a desktop like this one

First things first, why are you still taking an interest in VB6? It's highly outdated now. And lastly:

You are just starting out in programming but you intent to make an Operating System? :S You need to learn the basics before you can even think about a project like this. Otherwise you're as good as a copy and paste "programmer"

Iv been yousing vb6.0 for some time i just want to progress in my vb6.0 im sorry if i put i just tarted out what i met was that im just starting out on a harder stuff then the usual stuff i do.

I wouldn't even bother making an operating system. Almost all the stuff for a real operating system is also in Operating System specific languages.
