Rep (Mis)use?

Anyone can reply to this. I will acknowledge intelligent responses not trolls.

I am nearing 100 posts, when I reach the 100 post mark I will be able to give rep. There are a couple of users I have wanted to rep for helping me in the past. Would I have to wait for a present situation to give them rep or can I do for it a past situation? Not too sure on this, I think it's okay but just checking.

If you think they deserve rep because they helped you, I'd say give it to them. Although, thats my opinion. I'm not the mod or admin.
