  1. For anyone that struggles with anxiety as I do, here are my best tips for dealing with anxiety as quickly as an attack happens. Immediate Coping Strategies Deep Breathing Try the 4-7-8 method: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale for 8. This calms your nervous system. Grounding Techniques Use the 5-4-3-2-1 technique to ground yourself in the present: 5 things you can see 4 things you can touch 3 things you can hear 2 things you can smell 1 thing you can taste Progressive Muscle Relaxation Tense and release each muscle group in your body, starting from your feet to your head. Give them a go next time your anxiety spikes and let me know if they work for you.
