  1. Totally with you on the human touch in personal finance - something about having a person to explain things in layman’s terms. Budgeting apps are a lifesaver, aren’t they? Been using one for a few months and what a difference! But yo, don’t rule out robo-advisors too quick. They might lack the personal touch but their algorithms are usually pretty sharp. Keep exploring all your options, mate! And remember, every little step towards mastering your finances is still a step forward. You’re absolutely smashing it!
  2. Haha, good shout on the hovering phone, mate! Blessing and a curse, am I right? I’d probably end up fishing it out of some tree. In my garden. At 3 AM… And yeah, I remember the Nokia age. Simpler times - but, you’re spot on, I wouldn’t give up the cool stuff we have now. Double-edged sword, these tech advancements. Fast charging’s ace until your battery’s fried. Tricky balance, innit? Now, the phone charging from thin air, that’s straight-up sci-fi. If there’s actually some tech genius out there working on it - hats off to them! Looking forward to the next ‘wow’ moment they cook up. They better deliver, no pressure!
  3. I totally get what you’re saying, man. I got those Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro myself, and yeah, they pinch the pocket but damn! That quality’s worth it. Haven’t tried the Jabra Elites for workouts, but they sound promising. Have you ever tried the Beats Powerbeats Pro? Those ear hooks might not be for everybody, but they’re a gamechanger for me when I’m hitting those burpees and high knees, no worries about them falling out! You might wanna check them out too, might be an interesting switch from the Jabras. Anyway, keep rocking those tunes, bro 🎶🤘
  4. Totally agree here - feeling lost is normal. It’s like you’re on a long road trip with no map. Stumbling, backtracking, even not moving - it’s all okay. It’s 2021, you’d think we’d be more accepting, but societal pressure is this invisible force. Thankfully, there are support places - online forums, local groups, hotlines. Confiding in trusted friends can do wonders too. Let them walk with you for a bit when you feel like you can’t move. And no need to rush yourself. This is your journey, navigate it at your own pace. Hope this helps, stay brave!
  5. Ah, the old rent VS buy discussion. I totally get how you’re feeling. Buying might look like putting money into an asset you own, but it also comes with a bunch of responsibilities - maintenance, taxes, insurance and all that jazz. When I was in your shoes, what helped me was talking to a financial advisor. They helped me figure out if I could afford the unpredictable costs of owning. Maybe that could help you out too? If you believe you’re going to stay put for a while AND you’re comfortable with the idea of homeownership, maybe it’s worth it. But ultimately, you gotta do what feels right for you.
  6. Oh mate, I totally feel you on this. Nothing worse than opening a news article on a quiet night and getting jumpscared by a loud video ad. I mean, c’mon, whatever happened to a little peace and quiet online? What works for me is browser extensions that block these autoplay videos or ads. Yeah, it’s not a full-on solution, but it helps make surfing a bit more peaceful. Man, I wish these websites would take the hint and stop bombarding us with these unwanted pop-outs. Anyway, give those extensions a try, might save you from a few mini heart attacks!
  7. Couldn’t agree more about those chinchillas, always put a smile on my face! As for pets, it’s great you’re considering the less traditional route. I once fostered a sugar glider and they are super social but they’re definitely nocturnal. I remember mine would glide from one side of the room to the other in the dark! Just check local regulations because some places, like California for instance, don’t allow you to keep them as pets. Another suggestion could be a degu. They’re like a mix of a chinchilla and a guinea pig. Do share if you decide to adopt, this is so exciting!
  8. Totally agree with you on “Under the Skin” - I couldn’t shake off that eerie feeling for days! And “Ex Machina”, man, that movie was a trip. Really made me think. On the other hand, “Juno” and “Little Miss Sunshine” are like a breath of fresh air. If you dig these, you might wanna check out “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, it’s indie but with that Wes Anderson charm, you know? Or “A Ghost Story”, that movie stayed with me, in a quiet, melancholic way. Anyway, enjoy your movie binges!
  9. Sounds like you’re approaching this in a really healthy, chill way, which is awesome. Never forget that your feelings are 100% valid, and your journey is just that - yours! As far as pronouns go, it could also be helpful to chat with a friend or two about them using different ones for you, if you’re comfortable with that. Sometimes hearing them out loud from someone else can make a big difference in how they feel to you. As for the discovery of who makes your heart flutter, definitely keep an open heart and open mind. You might surprise yourself and that’s okay. And remember, you’re not alone in this journey, there’s a whole community out here ready to support you. 💕🌈
  10. Hey there! Ah, the old faithful laptop dilemma, we’ve all been there. Your friend was right, cleaning up old files can help, but sometimes a good ol’ factory reset can give it a new lease of life, assuming you’ve saved everything important of course. As for the defragmenting and Chrome concerns, you’re on the right track. Defrag can help arrange your files more efficiently while using a lighter browser like Firefox might use less resources. If you’re feeling brave, maybe give a lightweight Linux distro a go? It’s a bit technical, but there’s loads of guides online and it can significantly speed up older machines. Just an idea. Best of luck with the laptop resurrection!
  11. So, I was at my mate’s place last night, having a bit of a chill day, you know, the usual. He pulled out this VR headset, Samsung Gear VR to be exact. I must say, I was a bit sceptical at first. I mean, come on, how ‘real’ can a virtual world really feel? Turns out, way more than you’d expect! I was blowing up zombies, flying through space, I even had a virtual paintball match that felt so intense I was almost searching for cover behind the couch! I didn’t know whether to be impressed or terrified, LOL. It got me thinking, though.. With long lockdowns this year, could VR be an answer to escapism for some folks? It sure gave me a rush of adrenaline that I haven’t felt since I last went go-karting. Anyway, I looked up some different VR kits online today, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Sony Playstation VR and all. But, honestly? The price tags gave me a bit of a jump. Is it really worth putting so much money for this bit of tech fun? I’m unsure… What do you think about VR kits? Worth the cash or just another passing fad? And if you’re into VR already, got any recommendations for a newbie? I’m especially interested in VR games that give a real kick of adrenaline. And how do you handle the motion sickness thing 🤔
