[Help] Customising Linux Mint. - Elektrisk - 10-08-2009 Hello. I have Linux Mint (Gloria) and wish to customise it. I've seen many screenshots of Linux users with really awesome, tricked out desktops. I'd like to know how to make my desktop look cool, similar to using an advanced theme on Windows. I'm using a theme that Gloria came with, but I'd like to explore more. So, some questions: 1. Where do I go to get icon packages, themes, ect for Linux Mint? I'm using GNOME. 2. Where do I go, on my system, to install these themes, ect? Thanks a lot. RE: [Help] Customising Linux Mint. - Skill - 10-09-2009 I am not a Linux user but I found this link, it directs you on how to install a theme. http://www.linuxmint-art.org/comments/discussion.php?id=3 I don't know if it is correct, as stated, I don't use Linux. Hope it helps RE: [Help] Customising Linux Mint. - TheDoctor - 10-09-2009 You can download AWN (Avant Window Navigator). That's a dock-like navigation bar. http://wiki.awn-project.org/index.php?title=Main_Page RE: [Help] Customising Linux Mint. - Elektrisk - 10-09-2009 Thanks a lot guys. I'll be sure to check both sites out ^^ RE: [Help] Customising Linux Mint. - 5C4RF4C3 - 10-09-2009 This is where I get my themes. http://www.linuxmint-art.org/ When you download the theme it is usually in tar.gz format, leave it like that and install it. You can install your theme via Preferences, Appearance, then install your theme. Hope I helped. RE: [Help] Customising Linux Mint. - Linux - 10-09-2009 I usually use art.gnome.org. It uses a simple layout and has plenty of themes. RE: [Help] Customising Linux Mint. - Gone - 10-10-2009 (10-09-2009, 02:52 PM)Linux Wrote: I usually use art.gnome.org.
