What do you think about BackTrack? - -JD- - 10-08-2009

Hey guys,

What do you think about BackTrack?

Quote:BackTrack is the result of merging the two innovative penetration testing live linux distributions Auditor and Whax. Backtrack provides a thorough pentesting environment which is bootable via CD, USB or the network (PXE). The tools are arranged in an intuitive manner, and cover most of the attack vectors. Complex environments are simplified, such as automatic Kismet configuration, one click Snort setup, precompiled Metasploit lorcon modules, etc. BackTrack has been dubbed the #1 Security Live CD by Insecure.org, and #36 overall.

I mostly use it for testing my own sites and servers etc. Do any of you guys use it? Do you like it? Leave your comment!

JD

Never used it...I just don't see the need since all the tools are available to most Linux distro's and for that matter Windows...G4143

I like backtrack, but all of its tools can be added to any other Linux distrobution. So, it doesn't really matter. But yes, it's a good OS if your too lazy to add the files manually.

I used it to crack my first router's WEP key.
