HP Pavilion a6318f - Rawkfist - 10-08-2009 Hey guys, I have an HP Pavilion a6318f with a Phoenix BIOS version 5.21 . My issue is that although the supervisor password works, the Power-on or boot password doesn't. Anyone have a fix? RE: HP Pavilion a6318f - Hanzo - 10-08-2009 You'll need to remove your CMOS battery or reset your CMOS by jumping a cable. You should check out HP's help forums. RE: HP Pavilion a6318f - Rawkfist - 10-08-2009 This has already been tried, it's a bug in the BIOS itself.... it's been documented before. Do you know if a new version of Phoenix since 5.21 has been released? If so, how would I go about updating it, I've never worked with a BIOS updating before, but I find I am a very fast learner. Alright, I just checked HP's site, there is an update for my BIOS, update 5.27. I downloaded and started to install, the installation closed because I was running Windows Se7en and it's written to only install through Windows Vista....... any ideas? |
