GIMP graffiti Tutorial - awil - 12-27-2009 Step 1 Open any image that you want. Spoiler (Click to View) Step 2 Create a new transparency layer. Spoiler (Click to View) Use "Text Tool" to type anything on the layer. I'm using "Nosegrind" font, you can get it in dafont.com Spoiler (Click to View) Right click on the text layer and click on "merge down". Spoiler (Click to View) Step 3 Create a new layer underneath this text layer. Spoiler (Click to View) Right click on the text layer and click on "alpha to selection". Spoiler (Click to View) Click on "New Layer#1" and grow it by 5 (Select > Grow > 5) Spoiler (Click to View) Then fill the layer with white (ffffff) using "Bucket Fill Tool". Spoiler (Click to View) Step 4 Create a new layer above the text layer. On the text layer, Right click > alpha to selection. Spoiler (Click to View) On "New Layer#2", change the FG and BG colour to 043585 and 192b49. Then apply the gradient from top to bottom of the text using "Blend Tool". Then, Select > None. Spoiler (Click to View) Uncheck the eye button beside the background layer. Merge all the layer. Spoiler (Click to View) Step 5 Click on the text layer. Go to, Filter > Light and Shadow > Drop Shadow. Set the script-fu drop shadow : Offset X : 10 Offset Y : 10 Blur radius : 0 then click ok. Spoiler (Click to View) Move the "Drop Shadow" layer below the text layer. Set the opacity to 50. Spoiler (Click to View) On the text layer, Right click > merge down. Spoiler (Click to View) Step 6 Select the Perspective Tool. Alter the perspective of the logo so that it matches that of the wall. Hit ok. Spoiler (Click to View) Step 7 Set the layer mode to Overlay. Spoiler (Click to View) Duplicate the layer. Spoiler (Click to View) Go to Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Enter 30 for both values. Click ok. Move the duplicate layer underneath the text layer. Spoiler (Click to View) Right click on the text layer and select "alpha to selection". Spoiler (Click to View) Step 8 Go to Edit > Copy Visible Spoiler (Click to View) Then, Edit > Paste as > New layer Spoiler (Click to View) On the new layer, go to Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur and enter 4 for both value. Spoiler (Click to View) Set the layer mode to "overlay". Spoiler (Click to View) Then you can save it.
