This one may be difficult. - n00bikscube - 03-06-2012

So, today I have been using my laptop and it has worked fine all day. But, an hour or so ago it wasn't working all that well (not pulling up programs or internet, rocket dock "can't find my icons", etc.) "No big deal." So I did a system restore for 2/6/12. When I start it back up it's completely blank, flat black screen, except for my cursor.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, I see my log on screen and it's dual-booted with Ubuntu.

Today I downloaded Pinnacle studios 15 from thepiratebay.se to utorrent and it seemed sort of laggy.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I also downloaded winrar.

Well you downloaded something from TPB so there's a start.
Try a System Restore to an older backup.

Yah, the one time I don't check it first. I can't do a system restore it's a blank screen. Just my cursor.

I suggest going here for advice on this situation. They offer amazing computer support and you're more likely to get an answer over there.
