I think I have a virus - Swaganomics - 09-06-2011 My computer is bogging down on me randomly. I've tried restarting, looking at my processes, looking in critical places. But I have yet to find anything. Also I have Kaspersky and that hasn't found anything? Any suggestions? RE: I think I have a virus - Riggs - 09-06-2011 Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Then run a full scan and remove any malicious material it finds. If the problems still persist, I advise visiting the White Hat section of HackForums and requesting a member of the HJT team guide you through the infection removal process. Their services are free. RE: I think I have a virus - AceInfinity - 09-06-2011 If you want a review that isn't based off OTL, or HiJackThis logs, I would suggest that you check your Event Viewer for any critical errors or warnings. Check your hard drive for any corrupted sectors or errors. Check the fragmented level (%) on your hard drive as well, and if it's more than 7-10% do a Defrag. Make sure that any unnecessary services aren't running or unnecessary applications that get started from startup. Also, how about your PC specs? -Total RAM (virtual/installed) -CPU Hope you get your computer back up and running to speed again. RE: I think I have a virus - χтяємє™ - 09-06-2011 I would recommend you to contact HijackThis Squad member. Yeah, I already had Malwarebytes and that didn't find anything. I'll probably post in the whitehat section. I don't think it's my specs I have 2 sticks of 2GB ram and and AMD Athlon II X3 Processor 3.1 GHz RE: I think I have a virus - AceInfinity - 09-07-2011 Did you check the other things I mentioned though? No errors RE: I think I have a virus - Swaganomics - 09-07-2011 (09-07-2011, 12:37 PM)Ace Wrote: Did you check the other things I mentioned though? No errors I looked in Event viewer however I don't know what fragmented level is. RE: I think I have a virus - AceInfinity - 09-07-2011 Run this in cmd prompt and you can pass arguments directly to defrag.exe Code: defrag C: /a "C:" being the drive you want to analyze. You can change that to whatever drive you want to check.
