My first Blender face - Inventor - 05-26-2011 Hi all, Here is the first face I made in Blender 3D. I am still working on the neck and body. Tell me what you think of it! Inventor1 RE: My first Blender face - :'( - 05-26-2011 Thats pretty neat, especially for first time. RE: My first Blender face - Fragma - 05-26-2011 Can I ask what method you're using to model this? RE: My first Blender face - :'( - 05-26-2011 Also was this created using 3ds max or what? Sure, I started out with a sphere, then sub divided it (twice I think). Then I selected half the head (left side) and deleted it. I then applied a mirror modifier and began selecting points and pulling them where I wanted them to go. Once I had a basic head, I added many cuts to the nose and mouth area. I then shaped the edges to make the face, nose, eyes, and mouth. When it looked good, I used the sculpt tool to make the lips look realistic, and added a particle system to the head for the hair. Would anyone like me to post a basic head to start modeling? Inventor1 RE: My first Blender face - Fragma - 05-26-2011 I think you've went about this the wrong way. I've never used Blender before, but I have experience with using Cinema 4D and I would never model a head like that, although I suppose if that way is what you're most comfortable with then that's fine. However, I see you've already started to colour it and add hair & detail, when the actual modelling isn't even finished yet. My advice in future would be to model the basic head and features, then add some detail, then the hair, and then colour it, rather than trying to do all at once. Not bad for a first attempt though. |
