Dedicated Physx card - Splodge0007 - 05-20-2011

I've finally upgraded from my old ATI 5770. I now have a 6950. The basic idea with my 5770 was to put it in my downstairs computer and have two gaming PC's, however my friend would like to trade my 5770 for his GTX 260. I said I may as well as I don't really use my other PC at all.

So, the question is. Would I be able to run the 6950 as a graphical card, while having the GTX260 as a dedicated Physx card? I've been googling a bit and can see that people with a 6950 have used 8800GT's as dedicated Phsyx cards. So I'm wondering if any of you have had past experiences doing this. If so, please speak up. I'm honestly stumped at believing that an ATI and nVidia card can even function together.
