Replacing internal HDD i/o error - Annuit Coeptis - 04-22-2011 Hello! I recently tried to replace the hard drive on my laptop and reinstall windows 7 but I received an error: Quote:Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.I tried rebooting with the windows installation disc in with no HDDs in the machine and I got the same error. This must mean that the PC is not communicating with my new HDD right? I don't know how to fix this. Any help please? Why didn't you just use an external..I know that the hdd is compatible because another guy used the exact same model hd for the exact same model laptop. And what do you mean use an external? I know that the windows disc isn't bad because I used it on another computer. And my optical drive seems to be okay because I can boot from other discs (like ubuntu live cd) and I can use it to read cds and dvds and such. |
