Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - k1ll - 04-15-2011 I get this strange problem with photoshop, where any image I open or create will only appear as the transparent checkerboard blocks. However, in the mini preview, it shows the actual image in a really small size. Any ideas? Does anyone work with photoshop and know of a good forum to post this on to get help? Here is my dxdiag graphics card info: RE: Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - Untouch - 04-15-2011 That's not really a preview it's just showing each layer. Nothing wrong with that. Also it's showing the boxes because you have told it to be transparent. When you go to create a new file in the option "background contents" select "white" or "background colour" instead of transparent. RE: Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - Scalise - 04-15-2011 Yep ^^ When you create a new file, I believe in the bottom right there is a check-box for transparent background. Just un-check and you'll get a flat white background. If you print with that transparent (checkerboard) background, it will appear white. The transparency is nice when working with layers. RE: Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - k1ll - 04-15-2011 Ok guys I appreciate your trying to help but I don't think you are understanding the issue. On my windows XP machine photoshop worked fine and I have been a long time user of it and never had this issue before. I installed the x64 version on a windows 7 machine and WHETHER OR NOT I SET BACKGROUND WHITE OR TRANSPARENT it always shows up transparent. In fact, in the picture I have posted above, THE BACKGROUND WAS SET TO WHITE, which you can see in the layer preview. However, it still appears transparent and any changes or brushes I make do not show up in the main image, only on the layer preview. An even stranger thing is if I zoom up to around 200% the image appears as it should. That is what makes me think this is a graphics card issue, but I have no way of knowing....which is why I posted here. Here is a comparison of the problem i am having. This is a new 1440 x 900 image (my desktop size) on a BLACK background. Zoomed in at 200% everything appears correctly. Any other zoom and I have the transparent checkerboxes showing up. RE: Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - Leafs - 04-15-2011 Ya it is not really a problem, but as you can see i believe they just showed you haha. RE: Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - Untouch - 04-15-2011 Have you tried re-installing photoshop and updating all your graphic card drivers? RE: Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - Mr Kitty Cat - 04-15-2011 I had this problem as well, I just removed Photoshop RE: Photoshop CS5 x64 Strange problem - Untouch - 04-15-2011 Is this a cracked version of photoshop? This problem has been plaguing me for almost 2 months, and I have googled it several times, and posted on 2 different forums about it. The issue IS with my graphics card, and all I had to do to fix it was go into Edit-Preferences-Performance-Advanced Settings and set opengl to basic. I was going to PM MR Kitty cat the solution but it requires 10 posts, which is kind of silly I think. But whatever. My problem is solved. |
