Mounting linux drive under the windows enviroment. - DAMINKā¢ - 10-18-2009 Ok lets say you have a duel boot pc or just need to leach off a harddrive that has linux installed. Then here is how you do it. This is for vista not xp. Simply skip step #2 & #3 if you use xp and it will work. 1) download ExtIFS from here. Code: http://fs-driver.org/download.html 2) Right click on file you just downloaded and select properties. 3) Then choose compatibility and choose Windows XP service pack 2 option as below. 4) Now during install you will be asked to agree. Say yes as below. 5) You will then be asked if you want read only. Dont tick this. As below. 6) Then you will be asked about UTF-8 encoding. Tick this as below. 7) Next is the Large file feature. This is a big yes. As below. 8) Finally comes the Drive letter. This is a must do or it wont work. Notice i circled the area you need to chance. Its a little hard to see. 9) Reboot your system and now your linux partitions/drives are visible and writable. Hope this helps someone. |
