Mandriva bug? - DAMINKā¢ - 10-17-2009 Ok i just started up an old pc. For testing mostly and a bit of serving. Its a Mandriva based os with everything you would expect. Now i also run it as a second desktop mainly to monitor some other sites im part of. Now the problem i have is i cant for the life of me stop the bloody power saver mode......... Changed it under root and user and logout and still it shuts down the monitor after a few minutes....... Stupid and simple i know but its got me screwed.... <-- hope that dont get me another -rep. Sorry it turns out it was kpowersaver mode. Damn i did not pick that. Arent i red faced. RE: Mandriva bug? - ktmrider530 - 11-04-2009 Turn your screen saver off, change all options to leave screen off. And reboot. Should be good to go. Linux distros can be light or "bloated" as you like them...I have Mandriva 2009.1(WMII window manager) running on a P2 with 250Mb/RAM and it runs fine. Bloated distros - Linux is highly configurable so its as bloated as you make it... |
