Need help buying a PC. - Fragma - 02-22-2011
Ok so I've been considering buying an iMac.
The specs I'd be getting are:
21.5-inch: 3.06GHz
3.06GHz Intel Core i3
1920-by-1080 resolution
4GB (two 2GB) memory
500GB hard drive1
8x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Radeon HD 4670 with 256MB
My problem is that I'd rather have a PC.
Basically I need some suggestions for a Desktop PC which has basically the same specs, but for a cheaper price.

You will definitely get the a cheaper price if you decide to build a custom PC, as opposed to an iMac.
May I ask what your budget is? Also, you are from the UK, correct? What are you going to be using this computer for (i.e., gaming, graphics, video editing)?

I'll be using it mainly for graphics / animation / video editing.
I'd like to buy a PC rather than build one as I don't have the knowledge to do that.

If you were to build your own PC, you will get the most out of your money. It takes the smallest amount of knowledge to put together, and is definitely worth it. You are also able to choose parts of your liking, that will correspond with the work you deal with for the best performance. When I created my first computer, I had no previous knowledge. On top of it, you get that sense of accomplishment when finishing it.
If you are willing to chose to build your PC, I will be more than happy to choose the parts out for you.
If you are not, please post your budget so I can find another alternative.

Well my budget would probably be at the very most £800 ($1292).
I suppose I could give building one a shot. I'd probably need a lot of help though.

That's what I'm here for.
First off, I would recommend watching some videos on YouTube so you can familiarize yourself with all the parts that are needed in putting a computer together.
In the meantime, I will choose out your parts. I will post back when I am done.
