How do I let him down easy? - Guest - 12-13-2010

There is someone I can't have in my life anymore, as much as I may want him around.. I just can't take the emotional rollar coaster or the drama anymore. Every day, it's something else and I can't take it on top of my daily life. How do I get him away from me in the most painless way possible?[/align]

Please help.

When your letting someone go and you know they care about you. There really is no easy way to tell them.
I would suggest a phone call that would be the "easiest" way.
When you make the phone call make sure you have some friends around you to support you/ to make you feel better afterwords.
If the person knows where you live I would say about 40% of the time they will try to come over your house and try to talk things out.
Good Luck I hope this helps in some way.

Phone call would be the only way, because I'd have a hard time just hearing his voice let alone seeing his face. I really really care about him, but I can't deal with the way he treats me anymore..

Thank you for replying.

I'm glad I could help you. Just remember if he is one of those people that likes attention from you just be sure that you are not at home.
He will most likely come to your house and try to "win you back".

I don't even know if he cares about me enough to even try to get me back. He says things like he can get anyone he wants, and he'd just pick someone else if I left him... When I ask why he says those things, he just says he wants to make me jealous... I'm so confused about it.

If he is saying stuff like this.
He will most likely try to get back with you hence the "trying to make you jealous".
If you have a friend available at the time of the phone call it would be best for emotional support.
Someone who knows it was for the best.

I guess, I just need to know if he really cares about me... The way he treats me, it doesn't seem like that he really does care... It's hard to tell if that's the way he just shows it or something else....

Ask yourself this question:
Why did you come to ask for help?

You know he is treating you bad, but as of right now you have continued to put up with him.

He only cares about you because you he is obviously using you, and he needs you in some way or fashion.
The sooner you get rid of him/out of your life the better off you will be.

Trust me. Oui

Honestly, we live too far apart for him to be using me for anything. I'm dead broke, we can't have sex because of the distance... I want help because I don't know what to do, period. Getting rid of him is my last option.. I love him, and the things he does in person show a different side of him. he doesn't hit me, he doesn't yell, he's so unbearably nice and sweet to me... It's just when we aren't in person? I should have explained this before because now I feel like a total idiot...

So how do you know you love him?
How far apart do you live? (Miles or Kilometers)

I know you think he's nice and sweet, but this may be for the best.
Problems like this, him "treating you the way he does when you are apart" can become confrontational if you start spending a lot of time with him.

Over time he will begin to show you that side.
