Data recovery from External HDD - Annuit Coeptis - 11-29-2010 Hello all you wonderful people! Background I have a Western Digital 300 GB HDD and a PC with specs as follows: Spoiler (Click to View) Problem I cannot access the data on my HDD because there is no assigned drive letter. I need to access the HDD. It is not showing up in explorer. Notes
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Guidance to a program that will solve my problems would also be great. Then do this 10 min data recovery. First you need get data back ntfs/fat. Then you'll also need Partition Table dr 3. Open get databack ntfs and let it run for a min or two then stop it. Scroll down and look for the index.dat. Copy it somewhere safe but not on the drive your recovering from. Then open partition Table dr 3. Use the write index function and choose the index.dat file you recovered. Wolla all your drive data will be back. Now check the partition with partition Table dr and let it fix the structural errors.lut when done go to cmd run a chkdsk /f just to be sure then your done RE: Data recovery from External HDD - Drakon - 07-21-2011 Go to control panel, then disk management and add a Partition Letter to the drive, then format using quick-format.
