Anyone interested in meteorology? - Xander - 10-21-2010

I am a self-taught meteorologist, I started learning around the age of 12, learning how to predict the weather using clues of nature from my grandfather.

About 6 months ago, I decided to learn the art of reading radar, I have since purchased GRLevel2AE and GRLevel3, and I have seen 40-50 tornadoes in person this season alone.

My most cherished moment would be meeting Andy Gabrielson right before we caught this tornado, he was the only one filming although.

This tornado was an EF4 with winds around 170-175MPH.

My most terrifying moment would be September 16, 2010 when the jetstream was shifting due to seasons, creating a natural spin in the atmosphere, (also known as shear), and dropped 6-7 tornadoes in my area, one touched down within eye shot of my patio.

Here's a video of ONE of the tornadoes.

and here is the damage it caused

Anyway, share you weather related stories/pictures/videos Big Grin

Wow I have never seen a tornado in my life (in person) but it looks kind of interesting.
