Terabyte won't work?? - myposbussie - 10-07-2010 Hi, I was at the Rage expo here in SA this weekend and it was great!!! I bought my first terabyte there but now i can not seem to get it to work! When I plug it in, it shows in the raid thing in bios but not in windows, or disk management. I plugged it into my brothers computer and whola it worked. So that tells me that something is wrong with my pc. This is the first time I have used my sata ports on this board so I do not know if they work. I went into my bios and made sure all the sata ports are enabled and all the raid stuff as well. Will a bios update maybe help? I have a Gigabyte MB GA-K8N51GMF-9 AMD Athlon 64 3000+ cpu and a 500 watt psu I have even changed out the sata data cables and still nothing. Any help will be appreciated. RE: Terabyte won't work?? - phire nuk3r - 10-07-2010 The most likely cause is that your bios can not recognise the drive. Best solution is buy a Sata external H/D for a few $ and use it has an external drive because windows will recognise it straight away. If this option isn't pleasing. You could always try and search to see if there is a bios update. This may enable it to recognise such a large drive. RE: Terabyte won't work?? - DAMINK™ - 10-07-2010 You are running XP then i assume? If so you can get software to deal with sata no problems at all. Are you running XP?
