Multiple websites - Leeds-Lad - 09-11-2010 Hey all I was just wondering about any of you that run more than 1 website. Can I run an extra site from my VPS? Will there be any extra costs other than domains? I have alot of spare bandwidth. I already have 1 forum on vbulletin with a license but I don't think you can carry the license over. Which brings me to my next question - What are the best free forum softwares out there and for what reasons? I need something where I can embedd soundcloud codes and stuff like that your comments are appreciated RE: Multiple websites - !!* Alone Vampire *!! - 09-16-2010 You can use VPS for your second domain if your VPS provider do not bans you. RE: Multiple websites - Amazing - 09-16-2010 Yeah, you can use your VPS for multiple websites, it just needs sufficient space. I'd recommend using http://www.mybb.com if you're trying to choose a free alternative to vBulletin. It's the best free software by a mile and it will eventually become one of the best forum software on the internet. RE: Multiple websites - Brandon - 09-17-2010 myBB is probably the best free bulletin board software out there. Also, if your host alllows addon domains then you should be fine to setup a secondary domain to reach your hosting account. If you have cPanel it's easy. |
