Net User Command - ChuckR - 09-07-2010

In tracking down a Windows Update problem in Windows 7 Professional, I was asked to execute 'net user administrator active:yes'. This placed 2 logon choices at boot. Reading about this command talks as if choosing active:no will deactivate it. The concern is just how severe will it deactivate administrator. Certain files had Administrator and Administrators as part of their Security. After reloading the OS, I am unable to find anything but Administrators as part of many properties.
Additional Confusion: Looking at many properties/security there are a wide selection of Group User Names. Some have Special Permission, what ever that is.

I will stop now as I continue to be confused with Microsoft Security.

Thanks for any clarification. Mad

Type "net user /?" this will help you with the users you're seeing in the command prompt
