Internet Capped (disconnects) - Marda - 08-29-2010

hey,

as the title may suggest when i am capped (Optus fusion 50gb plan) and when both me and my sis are using internet at the same time only one can connect... for example were both trying to load a web page i load mine first hers will come up with web page unavailable... i have a dual band netgear router and a motoraler (fail spelling?) modem does anyone know why this happens in the dual band I'm only running the 2.4Ghz network any one no how to fix this problem

Your ISP may not be allowing too much overtime connections and bandwidth to be sent out. If this is happening only when you are capped, that is most likely the issue.

I've never had a limited internet connection, however I have talked to people who have and they are limited to no downloads(or really slow downloads), etc..I'm not entirely sure how exactly it works but that sounds like that's your issue.

The easiest fix here would be to either increase your bandwidth limit with your ISP or not to download as much.
Or failing that you could try contact them regarding this. However once your shaped your shaped.
The idea obviously is to not get shaped.
