Physical Abuse is not needed I like your idea, because next time the do something wrong the think how much embarrassment they went through the first time!

hitting children will not do anything but make the child a bad one when they grow up.

I personally don't believe in spanking as a means of discipline. Every child can be reasoned with one way or another and it should not lead into physical punishment. This teaches kids that physical aggression is acceptable, in the same way as having an alcoholic parent will give kids the idea that excessive drinking is okay.

I was spanked as a kid, now I'm a cop. So apparently you're wrong.

Physical aggression is required at times, it is acceptable. And about the alcohol, it may teach kids when they are young that it's ok, but about 10 and up you start to learn otherwise. And there really is nothing wrong with excessive drinking in and of itself. Except it's bad for your health. It's the things that stem from it that make it unwise.

Well, that doesn't really help anything, seeing how a lot of cops are jerks who are corrupted with power.

Hitting kids in general in any way is bad imo. I wouldn't do if it I had kids. As Omniscient said, reason with them and maybe they will be more intelligent when their older.

A lot? No. Try a minute portion. It's like an airplane. Hundreds of thousands of planes land safely every day, do you hear about them? When one crashes it's all over the news. Cops...hundreds of thousands of cops are genuinely nice people, one bad one, they're all over the news.

I never support hitting any child for any reason. They could be turn as a bad one. But I agree we need to control them but we can control them with other aspects no need to spank them.

Now those of you that do or don't agree with physical discipline, how many of you have kids?
