avira internet security is a really good one. You can get 6 months for free on their website.

Absolutely do NOT get McAfee.

Avast is an Anti - Virus I'd recommended, because it's fast, free and reliable.

Kaspersky is a nice AV. I also recommend Avira.

With Antivirus alone you cannot stop the virus You must need Malwarebytes along with your Antivirus.

Malwarebytes + Windows essential good combination

Why Windows Essential?

*It works good
* It will not suck the processor at startup
* Running smooth

A combination of Avast AV and Malwarebytes work wonders.

Norton is awful. Try to use NOD32 or just stick to MBAM PRO.

RE: Best Anti-Virus? - Rhynorater - 12-03-2011

I would use Microsoft security essentials or AVG. But I have heard Vipre is pretty good too.
