I like Sony's new MP3 player, it's about 80$, and the batteries last for a week of nonstop staying on, it charges from your computer, has very basic drag and drop from folder to folder file adding, and it can listen to radio, obviously mp3, wavs, and what not, and it can watch videos. It also has a picture folder.

ipod touch is the best way to go

In terms of music it would be the Zune.
Otherwise go the iPod.
