RE: What is really the best of these 2 anti-viruses - Cida - 12-18-2009 I used AVG free till 2 weeks ago, and it worked great, but I switched to Avast, because after one of they updates, it was ridiculously taking up more cpu than needed, my CPU would be at 100% all the time, and looking at the processes it was coming from AVG services, so I uninstalled, Avast works fine too I suppose RE: What is really the best of these 2 anti-viruses - thanasis2028 - 12-21-2009 I believe Avast is the best of all, not just better than AVG RE: What is really the best of these 2 anti-viruses - GeneralOJB - 12-22-2009 They both suck. NOD32 FTW. Best lightweight anti virus out there in my opinion. Kaspersky is better if you have a good computer. I have a crap computer and as kaspersky is a resource hogger, it'd lag my PC like hell. I used to use Avira Premium Security Suite too which was great. Before that I used AVG Free which is also a resource hogger. ( and crap ) RE: What is really the best of these 2 anti-viruses - nextlive - 12-24-2009 Avast of course.... RE: What is really the best of these 2 anti-viruses - Carb0n F1ber - 04-08-2010 As Omni stated, run both !! .... Also add on with a firwall --> choose between ZoneAlarm or Comodo.. RE: What is really the best of these 2 anti-viruses - Teh - 04-08-2010 AVG= Fail Avast = Fail Avira = Win. But if you only can use AVG and AVAST , i suggest you use avast , its better. RE: What is really the best of these 2 anti-viruses - MarkW7 - 04-08-2010 From my experience it'd say AVG, Avast took ages to scan. Not sure of the detection rates on either. |
