They are similar movies, some of the same actors too.
It is a film version of the popular TV series "City of Men" that ran for four seasons in Brazil, and which followed the international success of the film City of God (2002).

I think I watched that City of God before. So you mean the City of Men is a series prequel to to that movie? I'll have to watch it then. Thanks.

City of God and City of Men are not connected.
City of Men was a TV series, then they made the movie "City of Men" [2007]
"City of God" is a movie based on a true story. [2002]
It does have actor's from both movies, and it's in subtitles also, but i think it's worth a looksy.
