First impressions: Nice, clean, slick design. To me it shows you want to go big with the forum which obviously you do. ;)
The portal doesn't looks just right (on a basis of being to cluttered or not), so good job, and I hope it works out.
By the way: I giggled when I saw the "banned" post on the portal ;)

Really not a fan of the portal, nor the width of the board. (I hate thin boards)
Other than that it looks pretty good
