If that's the case then he's disabled the maximize box, or maximize entirely, If he didn't you can double click on the title bar at the top and it will maximize. Otherwise if you run Windows 7 and you have the application as the active window hold the {Windows} Symbol Key and press the up arrow key to maximize.
