Reputation is just a way for people to show appreciation for your help, especially on this forum. Or of course they find you funny/did a legit trade with you.
It really isn't intended to be a "quality meter", it's for people to express their opinions on you as a user of said forum. Sure it will get abused but by caring about this abuse, you really only show that you also care about reputation.

I still think members with over 500 posts should be able to -rep. Big Grin
As rules concerning rep all there is, is "Reputations should not be abused. Don't use them to flame members. 100 posts are required to give rep.".

Ya, negative rep should be available to member's at some point because it is to point out your opinion on that person, and sometimes your opinion can be negative.
