Learn Java or Python actually.

I don't think you see that .NET is based solely on Windows machines because it is dependant on the .NET framework, which other operatings don't have.

Sooner or later VB will become nothing because other Operating Systems will develop and the demand for programs written in cross-based platform languages will be high.

Ah, this is becoming off topic. I was looking for tuts. Tongue

I am planning on learning C++, but I want to start with this first as it provides me with the most interest.

I found knowing vb.net and vb 6.0 is helping me learn java quick. Big Grin
I'm also about to start c++.
Java is a language which is similar to many other languages so learning that will be a great advantage.
