Try clicking the filesystem icon, can you find any of these folders/mount points

/ or lib/init/rw or /var/run or /var/lock or /dev or /dev/shm or /host

Yeah it has them as folders.

Yeah that's the mount points. Linux's filesystem can mount partitions anywhere in the filesystem...It one of its great features.

Just go to each mount point/folder and check its properties

So when I'm installing stuff, is there any way to install it to the host directory?

Depends, some stuff has to be in certain folders/mount points for the system to use it correctly.
