RE: Mozilla Drops Firefox Support for Windows 98 and Me - Dr Small - 06-21-2006 Ya. Something's going haywire. I think there's something wrong with Firefox, because it was my Firefox at first that started sending my CPU Usage 100%. But it hasn't done it for awhile. But still, I'd like to have a system, that was plain, without all the graphics, and loaded quicker. I've set my CPU Theme to Classic, to reduce some of the graphics, and unchecked all of the preformances.... _ISR_m3rc_ RE: Mozilla Drops Firefox Support for Windows 98 and Me - CraKteR - 06-21-2006 Nothing is bad with graphics, but, lets just think about Windows XP for an bit now then. It uses 256 MB of ram on startup, double that and you got Vista. It uses 512 MB on startup! That's the amount of ram I got, so, it uses all my resources just on startup, not exceptable. So Microsoft is forcing people to buy new computers when they really don't need them. RE: Mozilla Drops Firefox Support for Windows 98 and Me - Dr Small - 06-21-2006 All I know, is that I used to have an old Windows 98 (HP), and that thing locked up everytime we booted it up. Then it made us boot in safe mode, restart it, and the same cycle started again... Watch this video... _ISR_m3rc_ RE: Mozilla Drops Firefox Support for Windows 98 and Me - DrPoodle - 06-21-2006 great movie! have you seen recent one: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6774591592070724791 Never trust Microsoft products...lol Plus, this one is great for Bill Gates' expression: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3877405527381660901 RE: Mozilla Drops Firefox Support for Windows 98 and Me - Protoman - 06-23-2006 Vista does use quite a lot of RAM, I'm going to get Ultimate edition, but I'll need to upgrade quite a bit of my comp first. But I'll still use the good old grey GUI. *mmmmmm nostalgia* It's not quite windows 3.1, but its good enough for me. I feel that 2000 onwards should be supported by most things. I never liked 98 and ME personally, especially ME as I just had problems all the time. Now, I run XP Home, Pro, 2000 Pro and Server 2003 Standard. |
